Outdoor Blinds in Narellan & Macarthur — Ziptrak, Zipscreen & More

When you bought your home in Narellan, Camden, Harrington Park, Gregory Hills or one of the newer Macarthur estates, you imagined the outdoor entertaining area. The big alfresco, the BBQ, the afternoon with the kids running around barefoot.

What you didn't imagine was the western sun turning your outdoor space into a no-go zone from November through March, or the rain blowing in sideways when you're trying to host a long lunch. That's where outdoor blinds earn their keep.

Highland Shutters has been installing outdoor blinds across Macarthur since 2016. We come to your home, measure properly, talk through what suits your space, and give you an itemised quote. No pushy sales talk.

The three outdoor blind types we install

Different problems need different solutions. Here's how to think about which one is right for your space.

Ziptrak® — the premium tracker-guided system

Ziptrak is what we install most often for the big alfresco area. It's the system you'll see on most renovation shows because it tracks the fabric inside channels, so it doesn't billow, doesn't flap, and seals tightly when the wind picks up. Choose from mesh (so you can see through and let the breeze in) or PVC (full weather seal).

Best for: Large alfresco areas, west-facing patios, homes with strong afternoon sun. Bonus: Can be motorised.

Zipscreen — the alternative to Ziptrak

Zipscreen works similarly but uses a zip-guided system rather than a tracker. Good middle-ground option for medium-sized openings.

Best for: Mid-sized patios and balconies where you want a tight seal but don't need Ziptrak's premium feel.

Straight Drop —

A simple vertical-drop blind, often spring-loaded or crank-operated. Doesn't track as tightly as Ziptrak in wind, but it's much more affordable and great for smaller openings.

Best for: Sideways privacy for carports, balcony privacy, small patio openings that don't face the worst weather.

Motorisation — let the sun do the work

If your patio faces west, the kind of summer where the sun tracks across the back of the house mid-afternoon, motorised outdoor blinds are worth serious consideration. Set them to drop automatically at 2pm, raise at sunset, or use your phone when you're still at work.

We work with Alpha and Somfy motors — both proven for Australian outdoor conditions and covered by manufacturer warranty.

How long do outdoor blinds take?

Lead time is typically 5–6 weeks from measure to install. Ziptrak and Zipscreen are custom-manufactured to your exact opening sizes, so they fit like they were always there.

What they cost — and how to pay

Every patio opening is different. We'll book a free in-home visit, take measurements, and send you an itemised. If you'd like to spread the cost, humm90 gives you interest-free weekly or fortnightly payments. And because most outdoor blind projects are mid-sized, humm90 is often the friendliest way to pay without dipping into savings.

Ziptrak outdoor blinds carry a 5-year warranty.
